1. Who we are
Nodeza ("the app") is a personal note-taking and knowledge management application published under the package name com.nodeza.app by Infused Sips, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company doing business as NeuroBean ("we", "us"), 10411 Motor City Drive, Suite 750, Bethesda, MD 20817, USA. This Privacy
Policy explains what data the app accesses on your device, how it is used, and the choices
you have.
2. Data we collect
We do not sell personal data, and we don't collect your notes. All content you create in Nodeza — notes, folders, tags, drawings, audio recordings, images, PDFs, and
settings — is stored locally on your device using the browser/WebView
IndexedDB and localStorage.
The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-site trackers.
3. Device permissions
Nodeza only requests permissions needed to operate the features you use:
Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
- Why: To let you record voice notes that are attached to your notes.
- When: Only while you actively start a recording inside the app.
- Where it goes: Audio is saved only on your device, inside the app's local database. It is not uploaded, streamed, or shared with us or any third party.
- Control: You can revoke microphone access any time in Android Settings → Apps → Nodeza → Permissions.
Storage / Photos & Media
- Why: To let you attach images, import PDFs, and export backups of your notes.
- Where it goes: Imported files are stored locally on your device. Exported backups are written to a location you choose.
Internet (android.permission.INTERNET)
- Why: Required by the Android system for optional features you explicitly enable — for example, the AI features and optional in-app purchases.
- Default: The core app works fully offline. Nothing you write is sent anywhere unless you use an AI feature.
4. Optional online features
Some features only run when you explicitly enable them:
- AI features (only when you use them): When you ask the AI to summarize, write, tag, connect or analyze notes, the text needed for that request is sent over HTTPS to our server (hosted on Vercel), which forwards it to our AI provider, currently DeepSeek, and returns the answer. DeepSeek may process data in China under its own privacy policy. Our server does not store your text; it keeps short-lived operational logs (time, size, errors) and may use your IP address temporarily to prevent abuse. Don't send sensitive personal information to AI features. You can turn AI off at any time in Settings.
- In-app purchases (optional): The one-time Plus purchase and AI subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment information; Google provides us only an anonymous purchase token used to unlock features on your device.
5. Children's privacy
Nodeza is a productivity tool intended for general audiences. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because no personal data is collected server-side, use by minors does not result in data collection by us.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you control retention completely:
- Delete individual notes, folders, or recordings from inside the app.
- Use Settings → Delete all notes to wipe the app's local database.
- Uninstalling Nodeza removes all app data from your device.
7. Security
Data is stored in the app's sandboxed local storage, which on Android is isolated from other apps by the operating system. Because content does not leave your device by default, the usual risks associated with transmitting or hosting personal data online do not apply.
8. Third parties
We do not share personal data with third parties. The only third parties that may process data are:
- Google Play — only when you make a purchase.
- Our AI server (Vercel) and AI provider (DeepSeek) — only for text you send to an AI feature.
9. Your rights
Because we do not hold your personal data on our servers, there is nothing stored on our side to access, correct, or delete. You retain full control locally. If you have questions about these rights, contact us using the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Nodeza after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
