1. Who we are
Nodeza ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal note-taking and knowledge management
application published under the package name com.nodeza.app. This Privacy
Policy explains what data the app accesses on your device, how it is used, and the choices
you have.
2. Data we collect
We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data. All content you
create in Nodeza — notes, folders, tags, drawings, audio recordings, images, PDFs, and
settings — is stored locally on your device using the browser/WebView
IndexedDB and localStorage.
The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-site trackers.
3. Device permissions
Nodeza only requests permissions needed to operate the features you use:
Microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
- Why: To let you record voice notes that are attached to your notes.
- When: Only while you actively start a recording inside the app.
- Where it goes: Audio is saved only on your device, inside the app's local database. It is not uploaded, streamed, or shared with us or any third party.
- Control: You can revoke microphone access any time in Android Settings → Apps → Nodeza → Permissions.
Storage / Photos & Media
- Why: To let you attach images, import PDFs, and export backups of your notes.
- Where it goes: Imported files are stored locally on your device. Exported backups are written to a location you choose.
Internet (android.permission.INTERNET)
- Why: Required by the Android system for optional features you explicitly enable — for example, the optional AI assistant (if you provide your own API key) and optional in-app purchases.
- Default: The core app works fully offline. No network requests are made unless you opt into an online feature.
4. Optional online features
Some features only run when you explicitly enable them:
- AI Assistant (optional): If you enable the AI panel and provide your own API key (for example, for Google Gemini), the text you send to the assistant is transmitted directly from your device to that provider. We do not operate a server in between. Your prompts are subject to that provider's own privacy policy. You can disable AI at any time in Settings.
- In-app purchases (optional): Premium upgrades are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment information; Google provides us only an anonymous purchase token used to unlock features on your device.
5. Children's privacy
Nodeza is a productivity tool intended for general audiences. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because no personal data is collected server-side, use by minors does not result in data collection by us.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you control retention completely:
- Delete individual notes, folders, or recordings from inside the app.
- Use Settings → Delete all notes to wipe the app's local database.
- Uninstalling Nodeza removes all app data from your device.
7. Security
Data is stored in the app's sandboxed local storage, which on Android is isolated from other apps by the operating system. Because content does not leave your device by default, the usual risks associated with transmitting or hosting personal data online do not apply.
8. Third parties
We do not share personal data with third parties. The only third parties that may process data are:
- Google Play — only when you make a purchase.
- An AI provider of your choosing — only if you enable the AI feature and provide your own API key.
9. Your rights
Because we do not hold your personal data on our servers, there is nothing stored on our side to access, correct, or delete. You retain full control locally. If you have questions about these rights, contact us using the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Nodeza after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
